Thinking about putting together a neighborhood event this year? If you live in Aurora, there’s up to $1,500 in funding available.

The city of Aurora is, once again, offering financial assistance to local organizations planning neighborhood events next year.

Neighborhood and community groups planning a public event in 2020 may apply for a Neighborhood Festival Funding Grant.

Funding, which is limited to $1,500 per applicant, is made available to assist groups that are hosting public events designed to educate, benefit, organize and/or connect Aurora residents.  Funds can pay for necessary support services such as table and chair rental, sound systems, stages, tents or other expenses.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 12, 2019, for events planned for Jan. 1 through June 30, 2020. The deadline for events taking place from July 1 through Dec. 31, 2020 is March 1, 2020.

To request an application, contact the Aurora Community Services Department by calling 630-256-3400 or emailing dhakala@aurora-il.org.
