Traffic will be reduced to only one lane on the Fabyan Bridge with flaggers controlling vehicle flow from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, or Wednesday, Nov. 6, dependent on the weather.

According to a KDOT news release, motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes during this work.

The work is part of the rehabilitation that has been ongoing since June with other work consisting of light pole cleaning and painting, and bridge structural repair and maintenance. The project is being constructed in multiple stages with an anticipated completion date of December 2019.

Subsequent stages in the coming weeks will also include additional staging of Fabyan Parkway to one lane of traffic in each direction until project completion.

Motorists are asked to be cautious and be alert for new lane configurations as well as equipment on the bridge and workers walking within the work zone.

As this portion of Fabyan Parkway routinely experiences very heavy traffic, much longer than normal traffic delays are expected during this portion of the construction. Drivers who decide to use Fabyan Parkway should expect delays while traveling through the work areas and add additional time to their commutes.
