Last Chance To Pay Your Property Taxes Is Oct. 25!

Want to know something scary as Halloween draws near?

The last chance to pay your property taxes is Friday, Oct. 25.

Kane County Treasurer David Rickert sent out the reminder Wednesday (Oct. 16, 2019). You may make payment with cash, a certified check or a cashier’s check.

Online payments will end at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2019. Personal checks will not be accepted for payment.

All unpaid property will be sold during a tax sale at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct.  28, in the county board room.

How To Pay Your Tax Bill in Kane County, IL

Taxpayers can make payment by:

  • Mailing your coupon along with a check, payable to the Treasurer’s Office, in the envelope provided.
  • Making payment at any one of the designated banks within Kane County on or before the due date, please remember to bring a payment coupon.
  • Making payment with check, cash or credit card during business hours in the Treasurer’s Office. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday except holidays. Please remember to bring a payment coupon. Please note there is a convenience fee for debit and credit card use.
  • Dropping a check with coupon in the property tax drop box, which is available 24 hours a day. The drop box is located behind Building A at the Kane County Government Center in Geneva. Check and coupon must be in an envelope.
  • Using a credit card, debit card or e-check over the Internet. Please note there are convenience fees for credit card and debit card services. There is no fee for e-check. Additional information is available on the Treasurer’s Office website.
