U-46 Magnet Academy Applications Due Oct. 15
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, for U-46 eighth graders who want to apply for one of five Magnet Academy programs the school district is now offering.
Unique to the Fox Valley, school officials say the School District U-46 Magnet Academy programs are designed to take high school students to new levels of creative, interdisciplinary learning and give them a head start on higher education.
With a program housed in each district high school, magnet academy students tackle an intense curriculum in dedicated facilities with the latest learning materials and state-of-the-art equipment that complements each program’s focus.
Students are admitted through an application and review process. Eighth graders can submit completed Magnet Academy applications online. The district started accepting applications on Sept. 9, 2019.

About U-46
School District U-46 serves families in 11 communities: Bartlett, Elgin, Hanover Park, South Elgin, Streamwood and Wayne, as well as portions of Carol Stream, Hoffman Estates, St. Charles, Schaumburg, and West Chicago.
In total, the district encompasses 90 square miles within the Fox River Valley, about 45 minutes west of downtown Chicago, and includes communities within Cook, DuPage and Kane counties.
