34-Year-Old Man Struck And Killed By Vehicle on West Galena in Aurora

Aurora police are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a vehicle on Aurora’s west side late Thursday evening.

Just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 14, 2019), Aurora police officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 2600 block of West Galena Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they found a man in critical condition.

Aurora Fire Department paramedics transported the man to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The man has been identified as 34-year-old Depo Lo of Aurora.

Aurora Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to the scene to begin conducting an investigation into the crash. Traffic investigators used state-of-the-art drone technology to create a 3D digital map of the scene that allows investigators to see specific details and measurements of the scene.

Detectives from Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Bureau conducted interviews with potential witnesses. The driver the vehicle remained on the scene after the accident.

Galena Boulevard was shut down between Canterbury Road and North Hankes Road while traffic investigators reconstructed the accident.

Aurora’s Emergency Management Agency provided light trucks and street blockades to assist with road closures and scene lighting. The roadway was reopened just before 2 a.m.
