Aurora Police: Detours Set For Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday at Chicago Premium Outlet Mall

The Aurora Police Department and the Chicago Premium Outlet Mall held a press conference today (Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019) to outline traffic detours for Thanksgiving night and Black Friday shopping at the Chicago Premium Outlet Mall in Aurora.

The Chicago Premium Outlet Mall will be one of the only malls in the Chicago area to open at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

The mall will be open for 28 straight hours to accommodate Black Friday shoppers.

To make sure shoppers can get in and out of the mall easily, the Aurora Police Department has unveiled a traffic management plan that includes road closures and detours to keep traffic jams to a minimum.

CUSTOMERS COMING FROM THE EAST VIA I-88

Patrons coming to the event via I-88 with an I-PASS transponder are encouraged to us the Eola Road exit in order to access the shopping mall.

Customers will take this exit to Bilter Road, proceed west by turning left on Bilter and will access the mall property via the north entrance of Sealmaster Drive at the traffic light.

Patrons will then be directed to the various parking lots and subsequent parking spaces by on-site parking personnel. There is no cost to park.

CUSTOMERS COMING FROM THE EAST WITHOUT AN I-PASS

Patrons coming to the event via I-88 without an I-PASS transponder should utilize the Farnsworth Avenue North exit in order to access the shopping mall.

Patrons will merge onto Farnsworth via the off-ramp and stay in the furthest right-hand lane, accessing the mall property via the west entrance which is Premium Outlets Boulevard at the traffic light.

Customers will then be directed to the various parking lots and subsequent parking spaces by on-site parking personnel. There is no cost to park.

CUSTOMERS COMING FROM THE WEST VIA I-88

Patrons, with or without I-PASS transponders, coming to the event via I-88 are encouraged to usethe Farnsworth Avenue North exit in order to access the shopping mall.

Patrons will merge onto Farnsworth via the off-ramp heading north and maneuver into the furthest right-hand lane.

Patrons will access the mall property via the west entrance, which is Premium Outlets Boulevard at the traffic light.

Customers will be directed to the various parking lots and subsequent parking spaces by on-site parking personnel. There is no cost to park.

CUSTOMERS COMING FROM THE NORTH VIA KIRK ROAD

Patrons coming to the event via Kirk Road north of Butterfield Road (IL Route 56) should us various off-site parking lots on Church Road as instructed by police and parking personnel.

These patrons will turn west (right) onto Butterfield Road (IL ROute 56) and then south (left) onto Church. Parking personnel will then direct patrons to the various off-site parking lots and subsequent parking spaces.

CUSTOMERS COMING FROM THE SOUTH VIA FARNSWORTH AVENUE

Patrons coming to the event via Farnsworth Avenue from the south will access the mall property via the west entrance which is Premium Outlet Bouleard at the traffic light.

Customers will then be directed to the various parking lots and subsequent parking spaces by on-site parking personnel. There is no cost to park.

NON-CUSTOMERS COMING FROM THE NORTH VIA KIRK ROAD WISHING TO USE I-88

Non-customers coming from the north on Kirk Road who want access to I-88 will have to detour due to the southbound lanes of Kirk Road being closed at Butterfield Road.

These motorists will have to turn east, or left, onto Butterfield Road from Kirk Road and are encouraged to us I-88 via either Eola Road or IL Route 59. For I-88 access via Eola, motorists should use Bilter Road for westbound I-88 access and Diehl Road for eastbound I-88 access.
