You’re in luck. The  Corron Farm Preservation Society’s annual Meat Raffle and Chili Cook-off will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019 at The Lodge on IL Route 64, 41W369 IL-64, St Charles.

Activities include:

• Chili Tasting and Baked Potato Bar ($5)
• Meat Raffle – Quality meats from Ream’s Meat Market, Elburn, IL
• Silent Auction — Diane Graebner Amish Prints, Wasco Book and Framed Print of Wasco, c1899, Bill Cho’s United Taekwondo Center package, Joseph’s Hair Salon Men’s/Women’s, Rodan & Fields, It Works Mandy Holtz, Bruce & Willy’s Natural Pet Source, Randall Point massage, Buffalo Wild Wings Party (Sycamore), Four (4) tickets to see the Lettermen at the Arcada Theatre, and much more.
• Drop Ticket Raffle — Miscellaneous gift cards and items.

All proceeds benefit the Corron Farm Preservation Society a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserve, increase and enrich knowledge of the history of the Corron Farm and early Campton Township and to provide leisure and educational opportunities for township residents, businesses and surrounding communities.

About Corron Farm

Purchased by Campton Township in 2003 as part of its Open Space Plan, Corron Farm is integral to the history and heritage of Campton.

At the Campton Township Annual Meeting held April 9, 2002, Campton residents participated in their local government by voting to purchase part of the historic Corron Farm property for open space.

This grassroots action makes Corron Farm the first property to be purchased under the township’s Open Space Plan and will preserve the land intact and protect it from development.

Under the plan approved by voters, 222 acres of Corron Farm land will be purchased by the township, with 122 more being purchased by the Kane County Forest Preserve.
