Next Election in Kane County: March 17, 2020, Primary!
Voters in five states — Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey and Virginia — will go to the polls today (Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019) to elect either a whole slew of state lawmakers or a governor and other statewide executives.
Obviously, Illinois and folks in Kane County aren’t going to the polls today, but it is a countdown to the big 2020 presidential election that happens about a year from now.
What’s next for voters in Kane County?
According to the Kane County Clerk’s Office, it’s the General Primary on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
Who’s running in that primary? Well, that has yet to be determined, but the filing period of candidates is from Nov. 25 to Dec. 2, 2019.
Among the seats that will be contested in 2020 are U.S. Senate, U.S. House, state senate, state house, Illinois Supreme Court, Illinois appellate courts, state and local ballot measures.
The elected positions of Kane County Board chairman, circuit clerk, county auditor, county coroner, county recorder, state’s attorney and even-numbered County Board member seats.
Ballotpedia says there are also races for local judges, school boards, municipal government and precinct committee representatives — and more.
