The Geneva Steeple Walk returns for its 11th year to usher in the holidays, greeting patrons with a variety of seasonal music concerts at four Geneva churches.

Presented by the Geneva Cultural Arts Commission, the Steeple Walk takes place from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.

Two audience groups will attend 20-minute concerts played simultaneously at the United Methodist Church of Geneva, 211 Hamilton St.; and Geneva Lutheran Church, 301 S. Third St.

Following the performances, the groups will switch venues to enjoy the other concert.

Patrons will then walk to the final performances — and similar rotation format — at both the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, 102 S. Second St.; and First Church of Christ, Scientist, 111 S. Second St. A Steeple Walk guide escorts the groups to the next church, all within easy walking distance, and shares information about the architecture of each site.

Artists performing at each church include:

United Methodist Church

Golden Strings is a popular quartet consisting of three violin-playing sisters and a bass accompanist. The group has performed in Geneva, Wheaton, Highland Park and elsewhere.

Geneva Lutheran Church

The Elgin-based Heartland Voices has delighted audiences for 20 years. This mixed choral ensemble has received critical acclaim by performing challenging and diverse musical selections.

Unitarian Universalist Society

Linda Slabon and Toni Tollerud specialize in music made with unusual instruments. The retired reverend and music director, respectively, concluded 26 years of ministry at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb in 2017.

First Church of Christ, Scientist

Known as the “Singing Gingers,” Canto Zenzero has performed throughout the Midwest as well as North Carolina. The quartet’s concerts combine multiple vocal genres and a blend of musical stylings.

Steeple Walk tickets cost $15 per person and are available for purchase on the City’s website; the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, 8 S. Third St.; Circa, 123 S. Third St.; and City Hall. Tickets also are on sale at any of the participating churches until Friday, Nov. 15. Seating is limited, and attendance by children under age 6 is not recommended.

The event concludes Geneva’s popular holiday weekend with the Geneva Chamber of Commerce holding its annual Christmas Walk & House Tour, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6 and Dec. 7. For more information about the Geneva Cultural Arts Commission, visit the city’s website.
