Festival of Lights at Phillips Park in Aurora
One of the largest free outdoor holiday light displays in the Chicago area, the Festival of Lights opened Nov. 24 for its 11th season at Aurora’s Phillips Park, 1000 Ray Moses Drive.
If you haven’t seen this before, it’s worth the drive.

Lehnertz Avenue in Aurora
A holiday tradition in Aurora, the Lehnertz Avenue lights display is truly something to see.
After World War II, when soldiers returned to the U.S. to build their homes and their families, families in this community wanted to leave a legacy to their children that included the biblical Christmas story. This drive-through display, where residents each display a part of the original Christmas story, includes lights, sound and all the biblical characters: wise men, camels, shepherds, sheep and manger scene.
Peanuts characters with Charlie Brown follow on Lehnertz Circle — all lighted and all free.
Lehnertz is recognized as the oldest, totally free traditional Christmas display in Illinois, according to the Aurora Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Enter Lehnertz Avenue via Sheridan Street, follow through Lehnertz Circle and exit via Ohio Street.

Mooseheart Holiday Lights Display
Join Mooseheart’s 10th Annual Holiday Lights display, which opened Friday, Nov. 29, and runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. nightly through Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019. Holiday Lights at Mooseheart is one of Chicagoland’s largest light displays! The lighted route is approximately 1.8 miles and has more than 80 lighted displays to view.
The cost of admission is $10 per car, and all proceeds will go toward providing high quality residential care and academic/vocational training for the children of Mooseheart.

Larsen House Holiday Light Show
The Larsen’s Light Show 2019 promises to be more spectacular than ever. And that’s saying something.
The house at 42W891 Beith Road in Campton Hills, is the 2013 winner of the Great Christmas Light Fight television show.
According to the Larsen Christmas Lights Show Facebook page, the 2019 light show started Nov. 25 and runs through Jan. 5.
Viewers are asked to tune their radios to 88.5FM and enjoy the show.
The show runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Blackberry Farm
More than 60,000 Christmas lights (3½ miles worth) will illuminate the sparkling pioneer village, with shooting stars flashing above Blackberry Creek and holiday cartoon characters (Frosty, etc.) gracing the tour of Lake Gregory.
