During the early 1930’s, Bonnie and Clyde were considered public enemy No. 1, as they cut a swath through the Central United States robbing banks, gas stations and small mom-and-pop stores.

KCAC’s two feline strays that came into the facility a few weeks ago are nothing like their namesakes. Bonnie is a diminutive 1-year-old brown striped Domestic shorthair. The kerchief of white hangs around her neck and continues all the way down toward her four little white paws. Her green, soft eyes could melt any strong person’s heart as she connects with you in an ethereal way.

She’s extremely friendly and ready to play whenever you might be available. Bonnie doesn’t hold anything back either, as she will be more than happy to let you know what she needs, even holding her own during a conversation.

If you have other cats, Bonnie will soon become the one they look to spend time with, although she definitely likes Clyde the best.

You’ll never feel lonely when Bonnie is in the house! Social, sweet and loving, Bonnie is the perfect kitty to bring home for the New Year!

Belle

Congratulations to Belle, our orange kitten that spent most of her beginning months of life in the shelter here at KCAC. We knew someone would find Belle absolutely too good to be true and take her home.

She finally found her forever home a few days before Christmas! We hope all the halls of your home are decked out with not only boughs of holly, but great cat treats and toys for the New Year!

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.

The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

  • Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
  • Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
  • Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
  • Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
  • Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
