2020 Solar Energy Forum Set For Jan. 31 in Elgin

The solar momentum continues in 2020!

Find out what solar programs are running in Kane County and how you can go solar at the Fox Valley Sustainability Network’s upcoming Solar Energy Forum on Friday, Jan. 31.

The Forum will feature Kane County’s PACE Energy Efficiency Program for Commercial Real Estate Owners that has allowed the Intra Sports Complex in Elgin to go solar.

Commerical Property Assessed Clean Energy empowers commercial property owners to finance energy efficiency, water conservation, and renewable energy projects with no upfront costs. The owner of the sports complex was seeking ways to improve the facility’s design with cost-saving, energy efficient upgrades, and the C-PACE KEEP program provided the opportunity to reach that goal through roof repairs and the installation of a solar PV system.

In addition, the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus will cover the organization’s Community Solar Program, and the Illinois Solar Energy Association will provide solar legislation updates.

These featured presentations will be supported by local solar-project case studies from park districts, schools, and community members. From legislation to financing and the installation process, the FVSN Solar Forum will have the information you need to be energy secure and support our environment.

The forum will be followed by a Solar Fair featuring solar companies and organizations ready to update your energy supply in 2020. Meet the solar developers putting in the work to make Illinois one of the fastest-growing solar industries in the country.

The forum will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 31, at The Centre of Elgin, 100 Symphony Way, Elgin.

There is no cost to attend the forum but please register.
