NWS: Freezing Drizzle Could Hamper Tuesday Morning Commute
The National Weather Service Chicago is alerting drivers of some potentially nasty driving conditions in time for the Tuesday (Jan. 27, 2020) commute.
“There’s a pretty good chance of some freezing drizzle, possibly mixed with flurries, tonight into Tuesday,” the NWS said on its Weather Story page. “Untreated roads, sidewalks, and walkways could become icy. Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to allow extra time to reach your intended destination.”

As of 11:30 a.m. today (Monday), here is the forecast specifically for Kane County, IL:
- Tuesday: Intermittent flurries and freezing drizzle, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 30. Northwest wind around 5 mph.
- Tuesday Night: Cloudy, with a low around 25. North wind around 5 mph.
- Wednesday: Cloudy, with a high near 32. Northeast wind around 5 mph.
- Wednesday Night: Cloudy, with a low around 24.
- Thursday: Cloudy, with a high near 31.
- Thursday Night: A slight chance of snow after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.
- Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34.
- Friday Night: A slight chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27.

Kane County got a little reprieve from the snowfall on Friday into Saturday, with the biggest dumps coming in Rockford and a god portion of DeKalb County.
Rockford led the league with 6.0 inches.
