UPDATE: Aurora Police ID Victim in Fatal Shooting on Near East Side
The Aurora Police Department has identified the victim in Monday’s deadly shooting on the near East Side as 26-year-old Antonio Johnson of Aurora.
The shooting took place just before 1:45 a.m. Monday, when Aurora police’s telecom center received multiple calls from people reporting they heard shots being fired in the area of the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue.
When officers responded, they found Johnson inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Aurora Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead on the scene.
Aurora Police Department detectives and evidence technicians from Aurora Police’s Evidence Unit collected forensic evidence from the shooting.
