Data crunching is the trend these days in government services, and the Kane County Division of Transportation is delivering with a compendium of data that includes pavement condition, bridge condition, accident data and information on the county’s Capital Improvement Program.
Bridge construction takes you to the Illinois Department of Transportation website, where you can find simple and detailed reports on every bridge in Kane County.
For example, the Waterford Drive Bridge across Waubonsie Creek is about .3 miles north of U.S. Route 34. Its condition is very good. Its superstructure and substructure score 8 on a 10-point scale, with “no problems noted.”
