Batavia’s getting a new Speedway gas station — and an intersection improvement to go with it.

Roadwork will begin Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Kirk Road and Wilson Street intersection as part of the ongoing construction of the new gas station on the northeast corner of the intersection in Batavia. Work will consist of installing access to the gas station, traffic signal improvements and construction of a new median just north of the railroad tracks.

Drivers should expect temporary lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2015. The Kane County Division of Transportation says motorists should allow additional time or seek alternate routes during this time.
