2 Charged With Stealing $6,000 in Coins From Aurora Vending Machine Business

An 18-year-old Aurora man and his 16-year-old alleged accomplice have been charged in connection with the Dec. 26 burglary of a vending-machine company on Aurora’s Near North East Side.

According to Aurora police, Keynaz J. Foster along with the teen are charged with breaking into the vending business in the 1700 block of Mallette Road. Taken in the burglary were about $6,000 in coins, a money counting machine and other items.
The charges were authorized by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Foster, who was wanted on several felony warrants out of Kane County, was quickly identified as a possible suspect by investigators. On Dec. 28, one of the Aurora Police Department community policing officers who was on surveillance in the area where Foster lives, saw him driving an SUV.
Based on the outstanding warrants and armed with the knowledge that Foster also had a revoked license, the officer pulled the vehicle over in the area of Felten and Indian Trail. Foster consented to a search of the SUV, and proceeds from the burglary were found inside.
Proceeding investigative work led to the identification of the 16-year-old, and he was taken into custody Jan. 3 at his Aurora home.
Foster is being held in the Kane County lockup in lieu of $25,000 bail, and the juvenile was taken to the Youth Home.
The charges are not proof of guilt. The defendants are entitled to a fair trial at which it is the burden of the state to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
