Peace Players Camp Performance 7PM Aug. 13 in Aurora: ‘The Vehicle Is Art’

This is the fourth year St. John United Church of Christ – Aurora has held Peace Players Camp for children/youth 8-14 years old.  The first 3 camps were held in 2008, 2009, and 2010.

After a hiatus, funding from two anonymous donors enable June and August Peace Players Camps this summer.  A third camp is already funded for December-January.

Each day of the 2 week immersion camp, kids from all walks of life practice love, respect of self and others.

The subject is Peace: within, between, locally, globally, and with Mother Earth.

The vehicle is art.

Nonviolence, empathy, celebration of difference, and self-esteem are explored through journaling, painting, crafts, improv, music, song and dance.

It is truly a must see.

Please join us for this year’s Showcase Performance at 7:00 pm on August 13.   Come early for dinner if you are hungry.
